Located in the northern region of Georgia, Lake Lanier is a 59 square mile lake that is a great place to enjoy a warm summer day. Lake Lanier is popular for its water sports, especially jet skis. This article will review the best jet ski rentals in Lake Lanier.
Best and Cheapest Jet Ski Rentals in Lake Lanier
The best and cheapest jet ski rentals in Lake Lanier are Lake Lanier Flyboarding and Lake Lanier Jet Skis.
Lake Lanier Fly Boarding
Lake Lanier Fly Boarding offers the cheapest jet ski rentals, starting at just $149 for an hour’s worth of jetting around the lake. If an hour doesn’t seem like enough time for you, fret not! You can rent a jet ski anywhere from 1 to 8 hours, with an 8-hour rental starting at $779. There is a $500 hold per jet ski rental that will be refunded to you when you return the jet ski undamaged.
Each jet ski reservation begins with a guided tour around the late that is tailored to the amount of time you reserved with the jet. They do include time after the tour for you to be able to free ride in a predetermined area where you can decide which direction you want to ski around and how fast you want to go.
You can have up to two people on your jet ski, but the second person will cost you a flat rate of $49 extra. For example, if two people are renting for 1 hour, it will cost $198 before tax, if two people rent for 8 hours, it would cost $828 before tax.
What really sets this company apart from its competitors is the person operating the jet ski must be 18 years or older and must have a valid driver’s license, whereas the other jet ski rental companies require their jet ski operators to be at least 25 years of age with a valid drivers license.
This company does ask that you arrive 25 minutes prior to your scheduled reservation time, if you arrive later than that, the preparation time could cut into your reserved boating time- to ensure you get as much time as possible on the water, make sure you arrive 25 minutes before your appointment!
How to get there?
Lake Lanier Fly Boarding is located on the southeast side of the lake, in Buford. They are located next to the sand bar food trailer on the resort beach.
If you need to cancel your reservation, and you do so 24 hours or more before your scheduled jet skiing time, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel within 24 hours of your reservation and it is NOT a weather-related cancellation, you will be charged in full. In the case that the weather does not allow for jet skiing, the company will try to work with you to reschedule, if you aren’t able to find a time to reschedule, then they will provide you with a full refund.

Lake Lanier Jet Skis
The second jet ski place I would recommend is located on the southwestern side of the lake and goes by the name of Lanier Jet skis. With relatively cheap prices and the option for 2 people per jet with no extra cost, this can be the cheapest option on the lake if you’re splitting the cost with another person. A one-hour rental is just $160, a 2-hour rental is $295, and $399 will get you 3 hours on the lake with a jet ski.
The requirements for this company are that you must be 21 years old, provide a credit or debit card, and have a valid driver’s license.
If you want to be free to jet around the lake relatively cheaply, this might be the best option for you! Just remember, they have a strict no drugs or alcohol policy that you need to adhere to during your time operating their jet skis.
You must be 21 years old to operate their jet skis, but not to worry, your little ones are allowed on the jet skis, you just can’t let them drive!

Port Royal Rentals
If you feel like splurging on a speedy jet ski, then Port Royal Rentals might be the best jet ski rental option for you. They offer the rental of a 2021 Yamaha VX WaveRunner. This Jet comes with 110 horsepower, so you will have a literal blast speeding around Lake Lanier on this bad boy. They allow for up to 2 people on each jet ski, meaning you can share all the fun, but you must be 25 years old in order to drive their Jet ski.
Port Royal’s pricing starts at $289 and offers the option for 1 or 2-hour-long jet ski rentals for walk-ups only. If you plan ahead, you can reserve their jets for 4 or 8 hours at a time. But you need to be sure you’re committed to going because their cancelation policy is quite strict. If you cancel more than 48 hours before your reservation, they will charge you 10%, if you cancel within 48 hours of your reservation, you will be charged in full for your reservation.
